the zarooq ‘sandracer 500GT’ is the latest model of the emirati off-road, street-legal supercar. development of the ‘sandracer‘ has continued over the past couple of years, with zarooq upgrading the engine to a general motors ‘LT1’ naturally-aspirated 6.2-liter V8, producing 518 bhp and 487 lb ft. of torque tackling any terrain. the drive is sent to the rear wheels through a five speed sequential manual gearbox, with a top speed of 137 mph (220 km/h).

forming the off-road supercar has been a collaborative excercise throughout europe. the zarooq ‘sandracer 500GT’s’ composite body will be made in belgium, and the leather interior crafted by mansory in germany. the chassis, which features a built-in roll cage, is designed by spanish-racing-operation campos. while rear-wheel-drive is extremely rare for SUVs, it’s quite common on dune-buggies and dakar rally cars. the ‘sandracer’s’ suspension travel is up to 45 cm from its integrated dakar-spec intrax dampers, plus there are two height settings — ‘road’ and ‘sand’. stepping inside the off-road supercar’s interior, it will have two seats, a digital dashboard, an infotainment system, and climate control. the emirati-based company plans to fit various iterations with different powertrains, and for a one-off rally series.
