Yves Béhar and Fuseproject team up with TELO to develop its MT1 vehicle into a compact and modular electric pickup truck. They design it for urban use, keeping the features of a full-size vehicle. Traditional pickup trucks are often too large for city driving. This prompts TELO to make its electric pickup truck compact so it can navigate narrow streets. The result then is a vehicle that can maneuver through congested and tight urban environments.
The TELO electric pickup truck features advanced EV and battery technology within a compact frame. The body is comparable in size to a two-door mini. The vehicle accommodates five passengers and includes a 60-inch truck bed that Yves Béhar and Fuseproject work on. This size maximizes both cargo and interior space. In this way, the drivers can bring equipment as long as a surfboard or slabs of wood on the back of the vehicle. At the front of the vehicle, gone are the traditional circular headlamps. Instead, grille-like, slanted line designs replace them.

For the TELO electric pickup truck, Yves Béhar and Fuseproject reposition and redesign the side air vents to improve aerodynamic efficiency and reduce turbulence. The adjustment helps improve the vehicle’s performance and aesthetics for seamless visual integration. Several unique features are present, as well. The taillights now conceal and integrate the charging port, optimizing space and functionality. The roofline has been refined for aerodynamics. The truck bed includes versatile elements such as tiedown hooks, a tailgate, a tunnel, and tonneau cover buttons.
The TELO electric pickup truck isn’t just for the city. It handles off-road and adventure use as well. The design studio and car manufacturer say that by electrifying the vehicle, they can contribute to carbon-emission reduction. Then, they say that the TELO electric pickup truck is 40 percent more compact than conventional trucks. As an example, they share it offers the same interior and cargo capacity as a Toyota Tacoma. Yves Béhar and Fuseproject’s collaboration with TELO extends beyond vehicle design to company naming, brand identity, and user experience.
