architecture student rethinks the pick-up truck with radical renault concept

this radical redesign of a pick-up truck would be sure to turn heads — on and off the road. polish architecture student wojciech jurkowski dreamed up the ‘renault subtil’ concept car in response to the increasing demand for bigger, but more luxurious, vehicles. jurkowski envisions four independent electric motors located inside the renault wheels that increase interior space for passengers, and allow large objects to fit securely in the back.

jurkowski designed visibly separate wheels that introduce a new aesthetic in car body design. an automatic folding roof allows drivers to adapt the vehicle to their specific needs, giving them the possibility to change the car’s functions and features by simply pressing a button on their smartphone. versatile adaptations can turn the vehicle into a sport cruiser suited for active people — with an open roof accommodating up to three bicycles — to a safe and roomy car for four-person family.

furthermore, ‘renault subtil’ has also been designed with extreme sports in mind — with an open roof, the concept could hold two snowmobiles, or two jet skis, for example. the folding roof feature, in combination with sliding seats, enables the car to be adapted to five versatile configurations.
