SOLID CRS-01 is a brutalist electric motorcycle oozing dystopian energy

voyagerco. builds the solid crs-01 for a dutch startup 

Product design duo Jeroen Claus and Fabian Breës from Belgium-based studio VoyagerCo. have been commissioned by a Dutch startup, SOLID EV, to build an electric motorcycle with strong brutalist references, dubbed the CRS-01. Sporting an unusually boxy frame, the limited-edition ride strikes as a shape-shifting steel machine, oozing dystopian-like qualities with its modular features, industrial gray-scale palette, and powerful bulky wheels that are sure to speed off at an impressive range.

highly modular and all-electric 

Explaining the concept behind the SOLID CRS-01, the team at VoyagerCo. writes: ‘We took a highly modular, product-like approach, using cost-effective materials such as sheet metal to build a self-supporting monocoque frame also doubling as the exterior panels of the motorcycle.’ Jeroen Claus and Fabian Breës also note that the design is a testament to the unique powertrain technology promoted by SOLID EV (see more here).

The Dutch startup’s existing electric ride, the SOLID MX, is a 100% electric moped available to purchase on its website. Built with a certain boxiness echoing the shape of the CRS-01, the two-wheeler stands out with its Z-shaped frame; it can be driven at a top speed of 45 km/h and provides enough energy for a range of 80-140 km/h.
