korean designer kim kyeong-su has envisioned a washing machine that puts user experience at the forefront. dubbed visdom, this new home appliance features an ergonomic design that exposes the drum to the front and places the opening on top so that users can use it without bowing down, rendering it comfortable for the body.

‘if you look at the home appliances that we often encounter, you can see that it has an ergonomic design,’ comments kim kyeong-su. ‘the ergonomic design is made to fit snugly to the body part so that it will not be overwhelming even if you use it for a long time. In short, it is a product that is comfortable for the body. in the case of drum washing machines, the focus is on protecting the back and knees. in drum washing machines, the front door is usually opened to load laundry. however, since the door is at the bottom, you can bend your back more than 30 degrees or sit and use it.’

the visdom washing machine by kim kyeong-su aims to solve the problems stated above by exposing the drum to the front and placing an opening at the top, allowing users to use it without making the body uncomfortable. to use it, users need to pull the handle to open the drum and simply put the laundry in. the space is then sealed by attaching a cap from the inside. in addition to the operation mode, the control panel provides the user with various washing program. once the drum is open, the viewpoint of the panel changes so that it can be used conveniently.
