Restored 1988 jeep grand wagoneer by vigilante

Vigilante brings out their restored 1988 Jeep Grand Wagoneer as a crimson truck with wood panels on both sides of the vehicle. The last unit of the model was produced around 1991, and today, the restoration company revives one of the 1988 pieces into a modern ride. The design team begins the renovation from the exterior using sheet metal repairs, tempered glass, and machines 17-inch wheels. Its hot-flaming look shines through the two-toned red paint livery, and the Grand Wagoneer’s original wood grain panels still appear in the restored 1988 model of Vigilante.

Inside, the restoration team adds noise-canceling Dynamat soundproofing and maintains the original chrome trim from the 1988 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. Vigilante also installs climate control for both the front and rear seating, found under the dash and interfaced with original-style controls. When car enthusiasts step inside the crimson truck, they might be familiar with some setups, and that’s because Vigilante brings over Rolls Royce-inspired design elements into the restoration such as Moore & Giles leathers mark the upholstery with New Old Stock corduroy inserts.

Rolls royce-inspired interior design for the crimson truck

Even the seats are thoroughly curated by Vigilante for the restored 1988 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, with the installation of new springs, foam, and padding. Other original features of the 1988 model emerge, including the long shag carpeting made of rare sheepskin hides that gives the interior a saloon-like feel. These sheepskin materials are set into the interior panels of the cabin, and their look syncs well with the premium grain leathers in place.

On the driver’s side, Vigilante’s stock-looking gauges are installed, keeping that ‘classic’ look in check. Vigilante’s team says that car enthusiasts may take note that the original 1988 Jeep Grand Wagoneer’s low-to-the-ground stance is gone because the crimson truck is now elevated. It helps provide drivers with a clear view as they cruise while still maintaining the vehicle’s rightful aspect ratio. The design team sets up power steps, so it’s easy for the driver and passengers to hop in and out of the restored truck.

brakes with hydroboost assistance for easier stopping

Vigilante says that the backbone of their 1988 Jeep Grand Wagoneer begins with the developed chassis, designed just for the model and the company. After that, they slot an 807 horsepower, 6.2L Hemi Hellcat Redeye engine into the vehicle along with a high-performance 4-speed Bowler 4L80E automatic transmission. Because of this, the restored truck can generate five times more power than the original model’s 144 horsepower.

Performance-wise, the power is evenly distributed in all of the vehicle’s four wheels because of the Atlas-II Transfer Case. This is also useful for off-road vehicles, especially those that might need strong traction. The Dana 44/Dana 60 Currie Enterprise Axles can handle tough road conditions and heavy loads while driving, while the 4-link Eibach coil suspension allows for bump absorption and stability during cornering or rough terrain cruising. Vigilante also embeds 6-piston brakes with hydroboost power assistance, making the truck’s brakes easier and more effective to use.
