Finnish brand Verge Motorcycles develops and unveils a seasonal California Edition of its hubless-motor electric superbike TS Pro at the Los Angeles Auto Show 2023. It follows the entrance of the Signature Edition designed by Formula One World Champion Mika Häkkinen and the previous Verge TS with its tron-like hubless rear wheel. During the LA Auto Show, which runs between November 17th and 26th, 2023, Verge Motorcycle’s TS Pro California Edition steals the limelight with its poppy orange streaks accentuating the electric superbike’s body. The shade is a homage to the US state’s flower and sun-soaked landscapes.

The electric superbike’s patented hubless motor design and technology still show up in the California Edition where the motor is located in the rear wheel. The move enables a larger battery which can help result in a longer range and a more stable riding experience. Verge Motorcycle’s TS Pro California Edition also embodies dual-tone top fairing so that the shell placed over the frame of the electric superbike – which helps reduce air drag and protect the rider from the wind – is immediately seen given its bright orange palette.

TS Pro California Edition revs as poppy-orange electric superbike

Design-wise, Verge Motorcycle’s TS Pro California Edition comes with a perforated leather seat that features small orange dots as its underlay, continuing the Poppy Orange color shade. A technological feature that might woo the riders comes through the small digital screen positioned at the speedometer. When the riders power up the electric superbike, the Human-Machine Interface revs a custom animation to signal that the ride has been geared up.

For the specs buff, the California Edition is powered by the Verge TS Pro platform which can produce 1,000 Nm of torque with a top speed of 124 miles per hour and a 0 to 60 time of 3.5 seconds. The electric superbike also implements an Ohlins suspension system that makes the maneuvering and handling of the vehicle easier and more stable. The battery can be fully charged in just 35 minutes with its fast-charging capabilities and churns a range of up to 217 miles on a single charge.

‘The California Edition stands out in a few ways compared to previous Verge models. First, the colorway is inspired by the California Poppy’s brilliant orange color. The fairings on this bike also sport a dual-tone finish of orange and black and have custom California Edition branding on the side,’ comments Verge Motorcycles Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer Ville Piippo.

He adds that ‘this limited edition motorcycle also comes with a large touch screen HMI that is customized to support special visuals each time the bike is turned on. We are confident that the California Edition will turn heads out on the open road, and we’re very proud of the work our team put in to make this possible.’ As of publishing the story, Verge Motorcycles says it will produce the California Edition in a limited quantity.
