the lines of the sports boat draws on previous models, in a new way that clearly appeals to car lovers. the initial design concept merges some of the best features such as a foredeck version of the dinette seen on the ‘VQ50’ and the popular sun beds found on the ‘VQ43’. other design highlights include two specially developed helm seats, a large lounge settee and an ingenious convertible top with a clever bimini solution. the amount of plastic on board has been kept to a minimum, with most components being hand-made in aluminum.

getting wet during a trip in a luxury open daytender is a common problem. the design team of guido de groot and menno van dijk have succeeded in developing a boat that remains completely dry both at low speeds and when planing. spray-free rides are assured on the ‘VQ48’ no matter how calm or rough the seas and at low and high winds. this considerably enhances sailing comfort and makes for a much more enjoyable experience.

space, for socializing and parties in particular, is central to the design of the luxury boat. the standard configuration provides 19 sitting or lying places, making it especially well-suited for day trips with many guests. ‘VQ48’ has lots of freedom of movement, and features a specially developed parasol for smart protection against the sun. moreover, there is plenty of space for toys under the settees. all of this has the added value of making this a practical and popular charter boat.

cooking is great fun as well, thanks to a super-efficient galley developed by famous swiss tv chef rené schudel. rené has channelled all his experience as a cook and boat lover into the galley equipment and layout, and also proposed installing a green egg mini barbecue in the aft section, suspended above the water. the high-end audio installation of the boat is custom fitted, adapted specifically to the owner’s requirements in a partnership with brian’s custom audio, a dutch company renowned for its work on the latest ferrari models.

the underwater segment and engine of the ‘VQ48’ satisfy the highest of yachting standards today. as with other vanquish models, this stands out for its low weight, which allows for terrific manoeuverability, super-fast acceleration, low fuel consumption and the remarkable top speed of 40 plus knots. and it is available in a ‘veloce’ version, with an even more impressive top speed exceeding 50 knots.
