Urtopia fusion e-bike gets a ChatGPT feature

During the EUROBIKE 2023, Urtopia unveils that its Fusion e-bike integrates OpenAI’s ChatGPT in its system alongside built-in speakers to offer riders their personal tour guide on the road. The riders can ask questions to ChatGPT about what places they can visit during their sightseeing, information about the scenic spots, and the history of the monuments, among others. In a few seconds, the artificial intelligence-fueled language processing tool can give concrete facts and answers to the questions, verbally spoken and heard through the built-in speakers.

Since ChatGPT is not yet able to adapt to live updates – its language training only goes up until September 2021, so it cannot provide information on current events – using the AI tool on Urtopia Fusion to ask for traffic and weather updates, or anything that may require real-time replies, is not yet an option on the table. It seems that the feature mainly caters to giving small talk while the rider is cycling or providing insight on a subject, perhaps anything under the sun, that ChatGPT’s timeline is able to answer.

Urtopia Fusion, the dubbed world’s first ChatGPT-integrated e-bike, also unveiled its other proprietary technology related to built-in GPS navigation, anti-theft, riding safety, and data record. With the power of ChatGPT and Urtopia’s voice recognition feature, the Urtopia Fusion smart e-bike becomes a companion for riders that can deliver real-time assistance based on the users’ needs, more so as a city local and a private tour guide that doubles as a riding encyclopedia. As the bike brand describes it, Utopia Fusion is ‘the bicycle with a mind.’

Urtopia fusion e-bike with apple’s snow white designer

Urtopia Fusion is co-designed by renowned industrial designer Hartmut Esslinger, the founder of Frog Design and the mastermind behind Apple’s iconic Snow White design concept. The resulting e-bike only weighs under 20 kilos with full carbon fiber and can be described as an example of fusing ‘a piece of art, stylish industrial design, all-road adaptability,’ all while equipped with ChatGPT and Urtopia’s other smart features.

Urtopia tweaks the app features of their e-bikes so they would be compatible with platforms such as Apple Health and Strava. Here, riders can monitor their heart rate variations while cycling thanks to the integration of iWatch health data, and the bike will automatically adjust power adjustment, offering a better exercise experience and longer riding distance. Riders may simply share their cycling courses and the carbon credit they earned on social media and invite new people to join the sport by utilizing Strava’s large user base.
