honda ‘motor compo’ electric scooter concept
on exhibition at tokyo motor show 2011, honda‘s ‘motor compo’ is a foldable electric scooter whose design hearkens back to the 1980’s ‘motocompo’. the front-wheel drive vehicle measures under 3 feet (1 meter) in both length and height. the ‘motor compo’ is designed to fit easily into honda’s ‘micro commuter’ concept vehicle (covered in this designboom article), and like the ‘loop battery’ of the ‘micro commuter’, the power pack of the ‘motor compo’ can be removed and used to power personal electronic devices.
a honda employee was quoted as saying:
‘looking at the ‘motor compo’ now, it’s as if we combined the memories of both the city [line of honda cars] and the [1980’s original] motocompo to create an image to represent this new generation.’
