maserati debuts GT2 stradale at the quail 2024

The House of the Trident brand has unveiled its latest creation to the world, the Maserati GT2 Stradale, at The Quail 2024. This limited-edition super sports car pairs GT2’s racing heritage and the elegance of the Maserati MC20 halo car. Marking a new era for the brand, the MC20 project was designed with a return to racing in mind, leading to the GT2 model, which brought massive track success in the 2023 Fanatec GT2 European Series Championship. To make this power and beauty accessible beyond the track, the automotive group developed the Maserati GT2 Stradale as a road-legal version embodying the pinnacle of Maserati performance.

combining racing performance with road usability

The Maserati GT2 Stradale combines extreme racing performance with road usability. It boasts a V6 Nettuno engine and a top speed of 324 km/h, 640 hp, and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds. With significant aerodynamic enhancements and weight reductions, the new model offers superior handling, making it suitable for both track and everyday driving. Maserati engineers focused on improving aerodynamic downforce and weight reduction, resulting in a balanced and agile car. It features a front lift system for rough roads and a spacious 100-liter trunk for practicality. The GT2 Stradale also includes the MC20’s butterfly doors for easy access, blending high-tech performance with everyday usability.

Maserati’s racing heritage, dating back to the Tipo 26’s 1926 Targa Florio win, is a key part of the brand’s identity. The GT2 Stradale bridges the gap between the brand’s racing success and its luxury road cars, delivering thrilling performance without sacrificing comfort for long journeys. The GT2 Stradale’s design emphasizes functionality, with every feature aimed at improving aerodynamics and performance. The car’s exterior, developed at Maserati Centro Stile, includes a redesigned front for better cooling and aerodynamics, a new carbon-fiber spoiler, and visible large rear wheels, enhancing both style and functionality.

Aerodynamic performance paired with carbon-fiber elegance

Aerodynamic performance is a cornerstone of the GT2 Stradale’s design, offering 500 kg of downforce at 280 km/h with the ‘high drag’ setting. The car’s overall balance and aerodynamic efficiency have been refined to enhance driving pleasure and performance, with features directly derived from the GT2 racing car.
The GT2 Stradale also offers a range of customization options, both aesthetically and functionally, through Maserati’s Fuoriserie program. The car’s interior combines racing elements like carbon-fiber monocoque seats with luxury touches, ensuring that the driver is at the center of the experience. Various performance packs are available, further enhancing the car’s racing capabilities for those seeking the ultimate Maserati experience.

Maserati GT2 Stradale holds a dual aesthetic design

The Maserati GT2 Stradale features a dual aesthetic design, with the upper part of the body in color and the lower section in matte black carbon fiber, which is also used on the roof, hood, and rear spoiler. Optional aesthetic carbon fiber elements are available. The car’s sporty character is further emphasized through its choice of four main colors, each representing a different Maserati theme: Nero Essenza, Blu Infinito, Gloss Giallo Genio, and Matte Bianco Audace. Additionally, the car offers customizable features through the Maserati Fuoriserie program, including a variety of unique color options like Digital Aurora Matte, Grigio Lamiera Matte, and Military Teal Matte. The GT2 Stradale also holds black matte wheels, multiple caliper color options, and gloss black emblems, with matte carbon fiber available for various exterior components.
