rafal czaniecki turns a bugatti chiron into a futuristic 4x4 for TERRACROSS concept car

shenzhen-based industrial designer, rafal czaniecki, has turned bugatti‘s sleek chiron sports car into a robust off-roader. the futuristic-looking concept is called ‘TERRACROSS’ and it’s imagined for an alternative reality. the modified vehicle includes redesigned wheels, head and tail lights, as well as additional elements all around the car to transform it into a 4×4.

the concept is a mash-up of two car types that are very much opposed to one other: a high-performance supercar and a rough and ready 4×4. ‘the car industry is changing, luxury brands are releasing SUVs and exploring new forms and styles that often make for surprising effects,’  explains rafal czaniecki.

one of the main ideas of the design is a 3D printed metal hexagon-based skeleton, enclosed in transparent resin-formed wheel arches. this motif is carried throughout the car – the roof cargo, tire tread, head and tail lights are all envisioned with the same hexagon shape. the 3D printed metal rim is designed to show off the possibilities that such technology could afford.

the concept is a result of ‘experimenting and having fun with 3D modeling, branding, and graphic design during long pandemic weekends and evenings,’  says the designer.
