STELLAR: a stylish and emission-free urban ride

Electric scooters and bikes are fast becoming a popular way to get around the city thanks to their ability to avoid traffic jams, their practical size, and their environmental benefits. The latest vision from this growing urban mobility market comes from Indonesia-based designer Fajar Ismail and his conceptual electric scooter design named ‘STELLAR’. 

Envisioned as a personal daily scooter for short- to mid-range distances, the vehicle is equipped with a small solar panel as an additional charging system, meaning no emissions and no need to stop. Ismail says the design is perfect for tropical regions such as south east Asia, which receives enough sunlight every day to keep the 240 Wh battery topped up.

Inspired by spacecraft—both real and fictional—STELLAR features a layered geometry and a lightweight metallic body made from bent aluminum sheets. The design is in fact based on the Quest Atom Alpha EV chassis. Ismail calls it his ‘personal project to create a customized electric scooter based on Quest Atom Alpha EV chassis’. 

The industrial designer added new features to improve riding comfort and efficiency. Additional specs include a dual springer fork, a headlamp cover, a springer seat, and digital gauges. See more of Ismail’s concepts on his Behance page here.
