straight out of stuttgart the germany-based motor company SOL motors has unveiled a missile-shaped ‘noped’. reaching speeds of up to 50 mph the pocket rocket is technically not an ebike nor a moped, sitting somewhere between an electric two-wheeler and a minibike.
standing at just 2.5ft tall, the pocket rocket features a lightweight aluminium tube frame that houses the bike’s computer, headlamp, rear brake light, turn signals and its removable 220V battery. there are two versions available – one with a 6 horsepower hub motor capable of 50 km/h (31 mph), and the other s version boasting a mighty 8.5 hp (6.3 kW) capable of 80 km/h (50 mph).
the bike has three dedicated mode functions including wheelie mode for those literally inclined, eco and sport. while the bike isn’t available just yet pricing is expected to start around $6,000 for the entry-level model and $7,500 for the s version.
