at the 2014 monaco yacht show, the riva ‘steel superyacht range’ was announced with the 50m vessel marking the beginning of the line. the creation of the displacement vehicle will be fully customizable to the owner, meaning fittings and interior decor choices are up to them. the exterior is characterized by slender, streamlined and dynamic profiles, that completely embody the company’s DNA. the purchaser will enjoy a unique experience thanks to the collaboration between officina italiana design and ferretti group’s engineers, architects and designers.

mauro micheli, the designer and co-founder, with sergio beretta, of officina italiana design said, ‘I am thrilled by this new challenge and can’t wait to ‘dive’ into designing this new line. riva is probably the only yachting brand that has been capable of creating, throughout its history, true icons which can be recognized everywhere in the world. and it managed to do so because it was always focused on innovation and perfection. aquarama – only to mention the most famous model – was so innovative mainly as a result of its creators’ constant search for flawless quality. thus drive towards perfection is inextinguishable for us too, who have ideally taken the baton of riva’s tradition. this is why I am so eager to start. riva is ready to leave its mark also on these future giants of the sea.’

the top deck

built in CRN’s steel and aluminum 45-90 meter boat shipyards in ancona, the 9m beam mega yacht has four decks capable of hosting up to 12 guests. it will preserve the style typical of their designs as it will offer large, comfortable spaces conceived for long, pleasant voyages. it is also devoted to providing relaxation and entertainment for everyone on board. this is ever present with the beach club that features a cocktail bar, an extendable lounge terrace and a swimming platform. the ferretti group’s latest innovation, the flooded garage is also installed to enable storage of a tender up to 6 meters long.

performance wise, the concept may be equipped with two possible engine sets; the two CAT C32 2100 or the two MAN D2862 LE 466 2100, which are both able to provide a maximum speed of 15 knots and a cruising speed of 14. the captain will control this power from the cockpit on the main deck, which will include a lounge area complimented with facing sofas. the gallery on the main deck, the pilot station on the upper one and the sailor cabins in the lower will all be connected. this allows the staff to move and work unseen without affecting the guests’ privacy. the superyacht is fully customizable to the owner’s desire in order to offer interior room choices that cater for different purposes.
