Renault unveils electric rides in 5 movements

At the Geneva International Motor Show 2024, Renault introduced 5 Movements, a recent electric series comprising a snow bike, foldable sailboat, jet ski, surfboard with electric hydrofoil, and bicycle motocross. Renault’s 5 Movements is a collaborative project with five French startups in the mobility sector. The car brand also partners with the agency TheArsenale for the unveiling, and its new mode-of-transport series epitomizes the elements of nature: earth, water, air, and snow.

Foldable sailboat and first bicycle motocross

Antoine Simon’s Reverso, the foldable sailboat, leads Renault’s 5 Movements project. The compact and versatile sailboat comes with a stable, rigid hull and can accommodate up to 180 kilos. It suits solo or family cruising, and the foldable sailboat is modular since it can be dismantled into four independent floating sections after use. Out of water and on land, Olivier LeQuellec’s Evol Bike gives Renault its first electric bicycle motocross, powered by a 500-watt motor and can exceed 45 km/h. Evol Bike is a collective collaboration between Renault, Olivier Le Quellec, and Vincent Coste, a renowned architect, for the 5 Movements project.

Nicolas Muron’s electric Moonbike for Renault’s 5 Movements

Electric snow bike, jet ski, and surfboard with e-foil

Fans of snowy terrain can hop on Nicolas Muron’s Moonbike, the dubbed first electric snow bike in Renault’s 5 Movements project, and treat it as their winter transportation. The front skit and rear track offer the riders a speed of up to 40 km/h and three hours of autonomous riding. Both lightweight and maneuverable, trekking through snowy paths might not be an issue. Those who prefer water sports and activities are not left out since Renault’s 5 Movements have a suitable lineup for them too.

Flavien Neyertz’s electric Searacer for Renault’s 5 Movements

Flavien Neyertz’s Searacer, the electric jet ski, offers riders a high-density electric motor that makes it ideal for both athletes and novices. It can achieve a top speed of 77 km/h and a range of up to two hours. The electric jet ski is developed in the southeast of France with using it for water sports in mind. Even Loic Deltour’s Plume, a surfboard with an electric hydrofoil, is tailored to water activities. Weighing less than 30 kilos, the light and robust plank with e-foil can cruise at a maximum speed of 35 km/h and take off at 15 km/h. It can guarantee an autonomy of up to 1.5 hours and a range of up to two hours.
