Hands-free PEDAYAK electric with a propulsion system

An all-in-one concept seems to be the overarching concept of watercraft PEDAYAK Electric, a kayak-paddle boat concept with bike pedals, a propulsion system, and rechargeable electric batteries. The company PEDAYAK calls its invention a hands-free kayak with hybrid electric and/or muscular drive that is maneuverable, stable, versatile, and modular. Its features include a muscular propulsion system with pedals and propellers; an electric propulsion system, controlled by a removable remote control; and a steering system with a tiller and rudder controlled by a stick.

The company states that this combination allows for maneuverability and agility when riders move forward or reverse the water vehicle. The 15 Ah lithium battery – which is removable and can be recharged from any 220/110V power supply and electric charging stations – can last up to seven hours if the rider pedals, three hours if used at an average speed, and an hour and a half if used at its maximum speed. The battery is said to be fully charged after two hours and a half.

Electric, muscular propulsion, or both

PEDAYAK Electric offers options of being 100% electric, 100% muscular propulsion, or a combination of both. It believes that its kayak-paddleboat releases no CO2 emissions, makes no noise, and is made of recyclable components.

The company states that the electric propulsion is controlled by a removable waterproof remote control that can be strapped in hand with velcro, and that the battery and controller are integrated into a single unit, housed in the waterproof hull. Riders can steer the water vehicle through the underhand stick which directly controls the helm and rudder.

Removable structures for side float and trimaran

Since PEDAYAK Electric is dubbed as hands-free, riders can fish, walk, sail, take pictures and videos, call someone on their phone, and hold up their binoculars with ease. The company writes that the propeller and rudder are protected by two keels and can go in shallow areas with 35 centimeters draught.

The additional side float and attachable trimaran can accommodate extra passengers, and the ergonomic backrest allows PEDAYAK Electric to be stable on the water. The removable modular of PEDAYAK Electric permits riders to sunbathe in the middle of the sea or take their diving equipment with them.
