the ambitious project of rally rd. was explained to us as the revolution of asset investment. this market, which has doubled five fold over the last decade, has led the founders to the realization of the platform’s potential. they have designed an interactive app that shows you all the cars, all their specs in a beautiful almost artistically simplistic design. you can also view the car’s tracked price listing, its historical and iconic significance, just in the odd case you didn’t already know, and many more interesting details that make investing even more personal.

furthermore, they have devised a rigorous set of qualifications for the cars they feature so you can rest assured you are only offered the best. the list includes thorough bred classics such as the testarossa, an icon of the opulent 1980s, or the gorgeous candy blue porsche speedster and you have your pick of the litter. you can see all the cars in the gallery at the bottom of the page.

each car is broken up into 2000 shares. after the initial share offering is completely funded, a 90-day lock-up ensues after which the market decides the price of a share just like any other equity market. the company’s three founders have a diverse set of experience in financial management, venture capital and product design, which has informed their project. and their ambitions for democratizing asset investment go well beyond automobiles, looking to break into other markets eventually.

rob petrozzo, cofounder, told us that they are working out ways for investors to interact more with their investments including sponsored events and possible drives for larger share holders. they recently had an event in downtown manhattan where the cars were on display. rally rd. understands that theses aren’t simply automobiles, they’re rolling sculptures, pieces of history — and who wouldn’t want to be a part of that?
