Olympian Motors is combining the past and future by presenting the Model 84, describing it as the first electric convertible SUV in the US. The electric vehicle comes with an augmented reality head-up display projected on the front windshield, replacing the 2D digital screens typically found in commercial cars. So far, Olympian Motors, whose Model 01 also combines the aesthetics of the retro age with digital technologies, says the first batch is set to be delivered in the second quarter of 2024, and only 310 units of this convertible Model 84 will be produced.

The four-passenger, roofless electric SUV is forged in titanium and military-grade carbon fiber to protect the riders in case of accidents and impact. Inside Olympian Motors’ Model 84, the cabin is surrounded by up to nine airbags to safeguard the passengers in terms of impact. Up to two car seats can also be accommodated by anchoring them in the rear of the electric SUV, and the glass canopy and windows are also laminated so they can be shatter-proof and don’t break into shards or large pieces. The electric vehicle employs fine materials including exotic woods, steel, cashmere, and silk, ditching cheap plastics, veneer, or toxic chemicals.

Luxurious minimalism is what the Olympian Motors’ Model 84 exudes for its cabin. The electric SUV says goodbye to the crowded cockpits as the design team provides intuitive UX and removes 80 percent of the buttons and switches found in a typical driver cockpit. These are replaced by the augmented reality head-up display flashed on the front windshield, and the system is powered by the in-house Olympian Operating System. The OS centers around voice commands to control the infotainment, HVAC, seats, doors, and lighting systems so the drivers can focus on driving.

Olympian Motor’s Model 84 can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 8.1 seconds, has a top speed of over 160 miles per hour and a total horsepower of 340, and is equipped with an 800 V lithium-ion battery that gives the electric SUV an 89 kWh capacity and a 335-mile range. As of publishing the story, Olympian Motors says that its Model 84 is only available for US residents in New York and California and is priced at 70,000 USD. There are no announcements yet on whether the electric SUV will be produced outside the US or the mentioned states.
