new floating motor concept transforms cars into watercraft
continuously expanding his collection of innovative watercraft concepts, italian designer pierpaolo lazzarini has now introduced a new floating motor system that transforms automobiles into water vehicles. dubbed ‘resto-floating’, the new mechanism is available in different versions, and can be fitted into any model to bring some of the most legendary cars on water.
the floating models can sail from 30 knts up to 60 knts
choose between various models, lengths and configurations
pierpaolo lazzarini has utilized this ‘resto-floating’ concept to found a newco named ‘floating motors’, offering the possibility to turn some of the most iconic automobile models into stylish water vessels. customers can choose between various models, different lengths, twin hulls (catamaran) or foil configurations. all floating models can be motorized with zero emissions by single or twin torqeedo electric engines from 20hp up to 270hp (or standardly equipped with common outboard engines from 40hp up to twin 350hp).
lazzarini has launched a crowdfunding campaign for the project, donating 1% of the brand/newco to each customer able to invest in the purchase of a first ‘la dolce’ founders edition model (retailed $ 50.000 -10 units limited edition). the raised capital will be entirely destined to build molds and prototypes related to the planned models that the company plans to introduce within the next two years. each car model can be re-adapted in an FRP or carbon fiber by respecting the original car chassis measurements, instead, personalized upgrades for water use will be installed on demand. mostly conceived for beach and lakes, each model can be used for leisure or become a tender for a superyacht and finally beach to hotel water-shuttle.
