naked labs has created the world’s first at-home 3D body scanning mirror that builds 360 degree images of users. the device is able to keep track of your body fat percentage, fat mass, body measurements and much more.

the device consists of two parts, a scale that houses sensors and a computer and a rotating weight scale that spins you around so that the stationary mirror can grab a body. using three intel realsense depth sensors, it bounces light off your body at all angles while simultaneously weighing you.

naked‘s super-powered processor converts 4GB of raw data into a 3D version of you. images are then processed and shared from the smart mirror to the cloud, and then to the naked labs mobile app. the device has an intel x86 processor, RAM, 4GB DDR4 RAM, and a 64GB SSD.

instead of calculating body fat percentage using bioelectric impedance analysis, naked labs uses an algorithm, comparing images against a database of body shapes and dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) scan data. users can analyze historical data with detailed charts and graphs, visualize body changes in side-by-side comparison with progress measured following 9 key measurements that look at various areas of the body.

the company began taking pre-orders last year for its $1,395 naked 3D fitness tracker. more recently it raised a $14 million series A led by founders fund. also participating were NEA, lumia capital, venture 51, seabed VC, among others.
