as a part of the london 2012 olympic games, BMW group has introduced a third member to its electric vehicle fleet. the ‘MINI mini‘ is specially developed to be used inside the olympic stadium to transport javelins, discuses, hammers and shots back from the field to the throwing area to save time during competition. the ‘MINI mini’ can carry a load of up to 8kg, equivalent to two javelins, a single hammer, discus or shot. covering approximately six thousand meters per day, the 1/4 scale replica of the full sized ‘MINI E’ uses a battery powered radio controlled system that enables it to be used within a 100 meter range, and can sustain a charge for 35 minutes, fully recharging after 80.
