the ‘MINI clubvan’ compact delivery van

the ‘clubvan’ compact delivery van by MINI is the automotive manufacturer’s first commercial vehicle, first debuted as a concept at geneva motor show 2012 and to be produced for fall 2012 in three different engine models.

the two-seater, five door vehicle features a fixed-partition loading area behind the driver and passenger seats. the compartments are divided with a unit whose base is composed of solid aluminum and its upper section of stainless steel mesh, preventing objects from sliding forward into the seats even under heavy breaking. six attachment loops recessed into the floor at the rear edge of the loading area facilitate the securing of cargo, and 12-volt sockets permit charging and mobile power. users can access the trunk either from two fully swinging rear doors, or from through the mesh partition via a passenger-side side door.

the ‘clubvan’ uses the same model design as the ‘MINI clubman’ car, with a total length of 155 inches, width of 66 inches, and height of 56 inches (LWH 3961 x 1683 x 1426mm), replacing the rear seats with over 30 cubic feet (860L) of storage. opaque rear side windows and tinted rear glass doors offer security.

the more powerful ‘MINI cooper clubvan’ accelerates from 0 to 60mph (0 to 100km/hr) in 9.8 seconds, with a top speed of 125mph(201 km/hr) and equivalent fuel consumption and CO2 emissions to the ‘MINI one’.

the energy efficient ‘MINI cooper D clubvan’ features a four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine to attain 0 to 60mph (0 to 100km/hr) in 10.2 seconds, with a top speed of 122mph (197 km/hr). its average fuel consumption for mixed cycle is 60.3 mpg (3.9 liters per 100 kilometers) and CO2 emissions of 103 g/km. packable to the car roof, with additional storage pockets on the rear doors, the ‘clubvan’ features over 30 cubic feet (860L) of storage space
