the mercedes-benz ‘zetros’ 6×6 looks like a military vehicle from the exterior, but its interior reveals a lot of comfortable refinements: a padded sleeping bunkbed for the driver, a 46 inch flatscreen monitor, a reversing camera, an intuitive 7 inch touch screen, a bose sound system, bluetooth connectivity, and air conditioning as expected. its power is generated by a diesel generator, or via solar panels. the interior cabin is made of natural, durable materials, including wood, marble, aluminum, and leather. in a homely spirit, each mercede ‘zetros’ is outfitted with a luxurious bathroom, kitchen, sitting area, and bedroom.

upon request, one of the friends even specified for his ‘zetros’ to be outfitted with a parking bay for a quad-bike. the roof features a carrier system that can hold up to 100 kg of cargo, while two spare wheels are at the rear. the dimensions of the expedition vehicles are the same width-wise at 2.7 m, and height-wise at 4.2 m, while they vary in length; the zetros with the quad-bike bay is 11.3 m long, while the other is 10.7 m. their exterior finishes are also unique. the longer model is adorned with a golden eagle, while the other is decorated with the image of a horse.

driving the expedition vehicles are mercedes’ own ‘OM 926 LA’ 7.2 l six-cylinder turbo diesel engines, delivering a colossal 326 hp, plus a massive torque output of 959 lb-ft, from just 1200 to 1600 rpm. the luxury vehicles’ transmissions include two options – one six-speed automatic, and one nine-speed manual.
