Maserati unveils Hiroshi Fujiwara’s reimagined MC20 Cielo sports car in Nero Vulcano and Bianco Audace colors for its series called ‘Fuoriserie By’. It’s a double celebration for the car manufacturer. First, they introduce Fuoriserie By, which is a collection of cars curated by ‘select tastemakers and friends’ of the Trident. Then, the first one in line for the series comes from the creative director of the Japanese brand ‘Fragment’, Hiroshi Fujiwara.

For his MC20 Cielo sports cars, the creative director and designer replaces the car manufacturer’s recognizable Trident emblem with his brand’s double lightning bolt icon at the vehicle’s rear hood. Hiroshi Fujiawara creates two colors for his Maserati Fuoriserie: a Nero Vulcano with Fragment’s badge in matte black and the other in Bianco Audace with Fragment’s badge in matte white. Inside the sports cars, the six-way power seats in full black leather feature white stitching resembling waves, designed by Hiroshi Fujiwara.

Elements of Maserati still appear in Hiroshi Fujiwara’s Fuoriserie By MC20 Cielo. Take the Trident emblem; once on the rear’s hood and now embroidered on the headrests of the leather power seats. Even the steering wheel is in black Alcantara, still featuring the white stitching found on the seats. To signal the collaboration between Maserati and Hiroshi Fujiwara for Fuoriserie By, the car manufacturer and the Japanese creative director, musician, and designer add a metal plate that celebrates their teamwork between the two headrests.

The MC20 Cielo, produced at the Modena plant of Maserati, comes with the F1-derived V6 Nettuno engine. It also features a retractable smart glass roof, which is transformable from clear to opaque at the touch of a button. The car manufacturer says they’ve had a long-standing relationship with Hiroshi Fujiwara and his brand Fragment, so choosing him for the Fuoriserie By with MC20 Cielo isn’t chanced upon. At the moment, both Fuoriserie By Hiroshi Fujiwara configurations are available upon request on the MC20 Cielo sports car.
