leaos launches a lightweight pressed e-bike with removable battery

after first unveiling their pressed e-bike back in 2018, leaos has announced the launch of an indiegogo crowdfunding campaign to bring the bike into production in italy. the design team now presents an updated version of the lightweight bike, with new colorways and an additional city adaptation.

designed by harry thaler, the frame is made of two aluminium halves, which are pressed and welded at an automotive supplier in italy. weighing just 15kg the bike is easy to transport, and the design boasts a removable battery and increased power thanks to a powerful motor. leaos has also ensured there is a suitable model for everyone. as a city bike, it travels quickly and easily through busy streets, while the touring bike version provides great performance and a decisive weight advantage. finally, as a single-speed bike, it offers a sleek and stylish product perfect for a younger demographic. 

the removable battery has been developed together with german company smart battery solutions in kleinostheim near frankfurt. 360 Wh and full in under 2 hours, the battery is compact and completely invisible in the bike, yet also removable and lockable. with up to 100 km, the range is considerable. it can be charged on the frame or on the battery, and should the battery be empty, the pressed e-bike rides like a normal bicycle.

the indiegogo crowdfunding campaign will soon begin with up to 40% discount available on the bike in order to industrialize the frame production in bologna, italy. registration for the discount is now possible and more information and specification about the pressed e-bike can be found here.
