seven custom jeep concept vehicles debut at easter jeep safari 2018

from retro-inspired off-roaders to beach buggies, jeep has revealed seven new, custom-built concept vehicles. their world debuts coincide with the easter jeep safari 2018 edition – march 24 to april 1 – as off-road enthusiasts head to moab, utah, USA, for a week of driving on picturesque trails.

jeep wagoneer roadtrip

retaining its heritage and charm, the original steel body of the jeep ‘wagoneer roadtrip’ evokes a sense of nostalgia for summer vacations. the exterior features reshaped wheel wells, bumpers and integrated rock rails, while a razor grille adorns the front. inside, the front and rear bench seats, door panels, and kick and rear panels are trimmed in oxblood-colored leather, which contrasts to the light wicker headliner. in spite of its reminiscent character, the vehicle, specifically its chassis and drivetrain, have been updated. powered by a 5.7 liter V8, the vehicle also offers four-speed automatic transmission, four-link suspension with coilover spring, and 17-inch steel wheels.

jeep 4SPEED

light, quick, nimble, the super lightweight jeep ‘4SPEED’ concept combines the off-road capability of  a ‘wrangler’ with an all-new turbocharged I-4 engine. its performance is even further enhanced with dana 44 front and rear axles and 18-inch monoblock wheels wrapped in 35-inch BF goodrich mud terrain tires. taking weight saving to the max, the exterior’s sleek profile is fitted with a carbon fiber hood, high-clearance fender flares, and rear tub with perforated aluminum panels. for the interior, the cabin features a customized instrument panels, re-trimmed front seats, and aluminum footwells, while the rear seats have been removed to accommodate a welding curtain.

jeep sandstorm

inspired by baja desert races, the jeep ‘sandstorm’ is all about racing on sand. as such, the vehicle is powered by a 6.4-liter V8 engine with a six-speed manual transmission, as well as featuring an extreme-duty suspension system. the exterior adorns custom styling cues such as a vented carbon fiber hood, vented high clearance front and rear fender flares, and a cage. following the desert racing theme inside, the interior integrates the custom cage with the leather-trimmed front and low-back seats in the rear. finally, it is completed with a 7-inch off-road GPS unit handle navigation.

jeep B-ute

never has a jeep been more equipped with an off-road adventure than the ‘B-ute’ concept. the vehicle’s exterior is defined by a unique front and rear fascias, as well as an upper grille, hood with heat extractors, and wide flares. it features a 1.5-inch lift kit, a roof rack and rock rails, while also enhancing a 2.4-liter tigershark engine with nine-sped automatic transmission. this can all be enjoyed from a comfortable interior of custom trimmed seats with mineral inserts, which contrasts with the carbonite finish or the shift stick, speaker, and vent surrounds.

jeep nacho

described as ‘a rolling catalog loaded with selections from the mopar brand’s jeep performance parts menu‘, the ‘nacho’ jeep envisions how customers can create their own custom trail vehicle. the concept itself, decorated in a rare nacho yellow color, is accentuated by its brawny hood that accommodates a cold-air intake that feeds the 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 engine. to just name a few of its modifications, the car features: a steel rubicon bumper, warn winch kit, superior trail visibility with guard-mounted LED lights, 2-inch lift kit, 2.5-inch diameter aluminum body shocks, oversized 37-inch tires, thick and wide rock rails, 2-inch round tube doors, and a spare tire tailgate.

jeep J-wagon

the jeep ‘J-wagon’ concept is personalized to create a premium-styled vehicle equally at home on the trails and urban cityscapes. with a warm neutral grey body color, warm-tinted glass, and subtle brass monkey details, the exterior is as sleek  as it is rugged. as well as featuring mounted 5-inch LED lights, a mopar black grille, and 17-inch slot-design wheels, the concept is distinctive thanks to its JPP hood-designed snorkel. in the interior, the stylish and premium details continue. camel-color katzkin leather seats welcome passengers with an elite feel, which is extended with brass monkey trim and bezel accents on the HVAC vents, door handles, and steering wheel.

jeep jeepster

evoking the color palette and styling of the 1966 version, the jeep ‘jeepster’ concept is characterized by its two-tone graphic of the firecracker red body and bright white hardtop. the lighter color also accents the rubicon fender flares, and an upper portion of the half doors. inside the vehicle, a cocept tubular roll cage replaces the sport bar and an additional 38-inch tire is secured with a custom in-cabin spare tire carrier. in an effort to merge off-road functionality with premium features, the seats adorn black katzkin leather seats with rubicon red accent stitching.
