Here comes tinypod with its ipod click and scroll wheel
Apple discontinued the generation of iPod with the classic click (and scroll) wheel back in 2014. Ten years later, tinyPod and its design team revive it in the form of cases for the Apple Watch. The shiny-looking case fits snugly around the Apple Watch. When the rear part pops open, the user puts their smartwatch into the case until it clicks. The device lights up, and they can start scrolling and reliving the days of the iPod click wheel.
All the apps of the Apple Watch work quite well with the iPod case. In fact, the click and scroll wheel make the navigation more tactile by spinning the thumb on the surface or hearing the soft clicks when opening an app. tinyPod says that the scrolling functions because of the mechanized components inside the case. Its wheel makes direct rotational contact with the Apple Watch’s crown, which makes the widgets slide up and down.

From Apple watch to ‘ipod’ using cases
The rear part of tinyPod’s Apple Watch case is ‘open,’ so users can simply attach their magnetic charging cable with a snap. Apple Pay and NameDrop also work with the case, just as the users would do with their iPhones. The design team says that with the wrist detection turned off, the users can use their Apple Watch for a number of days on a single charge, thanks to the case with the iPod click and scroll wheel. There are two cases available.
The first one is the classic version with the iPod click and scroll wheel. The second, the ‘lite’ version, is just a silicone-looking case without the wheel, letting the users hold their Apple Watch in their palms. For both cases, tinyPod has carved holes for the speaker and microphone on the side to filter sounds in and out well. As of publishing the story, the Apple Watch case with iPod click and scroll wheel begins shipping this Fall 2024 at a price of 89.99 USD, while its sibling, the tinyPod Lite, ships this Summer 2024 for 39.99 USD.
