INVICTO: brabus premieres blast-proof mercedes-benz G63 with 3D-printed armor

german high-performance automobile tuning company, brabus automotive unveils INVICTO – a series of armored vehicles based on 789hp mercedes-benz G-class. depending on the clients’ security needs, the military grade wagons come in three different options – PURE, MISSION and LUXURY.

with an additional weight of 1000kg on top of the regular mercedes-benz G-class series, the brabus INVICTO SUVs are all fitted with hot formed armoring steel plates and innovative 3D-printed protection parts. the INVICTO shelter cell technology meets all OEM (original equipment manufacturer) factory armoring standards and has the ballistic protection level of VR6 plus ERV (explosion resistant vehicle).

‘for the first time anywhere in the world, we’re using protective elements here, which are produced in an additive manufacturing process in a 3D printer.’ tells christian draser, CEO of brabus automotive. ‘we’re definitely the first to do it.’

the INVICTO PURE is for pure protection. with the maximum protection at VR6 plus ERV level, the vehicle serves as the basic tier of the series with stock interiors and exterior.

the INVICTO MISSION is designed to escort special forces and high-profile individuals. the vehicle comes with military grade interior and the exterior features – protection vest compatible integral seats with variable foam geometry, ‘molle’-system door panels, seat backs, roof rail system and digital rear display mirror.

the INVICTO LUXURY maintains all the features of the PURE and MISSION, while providing the customers even more options to customize. these options include handcrafted interior, exterior trims such as lighting and signal systems, auxiliary roof lights, and performance upgrades.
