honda is committed to launching only electrified models after 2030

striving to achieve a collision-free society

during a virtual press conference, honda announced details of a comprehensive electrification strategy, promising to launch only electrified models after 2030. to promote a sustainable society, the japanese automaker has been fully engaged in addressing environmental and safety issues and realizing carbon neutrality and zero traffic accident fatalities until 2050. honda will introduce the first EVs, dubbed ‘e:N series’, while sales will begin in china in spring 2022. all images courtesy of honda

furthermore, the company plans to bring 10 e:N series models over the next 5 years in china, and envisions exporting these vehicles from there. the e:N series is being developed with the concept of ‘dynamic, intelligence and beauty’, in which honda attempts to incorporate new value by developing original technologies, to accomplish next-generation driving pleasure. the first set of the series — the e:Ns1 and e:Np1 built by dongfeng and gac honda, respectively — will feature sporty and exhilarating driving, along with a safe, pleasant, and smart space for mobility; and simple and sharp exterior styling.

along with these two planned production models, for further improvement of the e:N series lineup, the car company is developing three concept models, e:N coupe concept, e:N SUV concept, and e:N GT concept, starting sales within the next 5 years. in order to guarantee constant delivery of an increasing number of the e:N series models, it will accelerate its electrification initiatives comprehensively, focusing not only on product development but also on sales and production including the system for stable battery supply.

honda is planning to launch dedicated e:N dealerships in major cities of china, which will specialize in sales of e:N series models. in addition, it will create more opportunities for customers to take time and experience the value the new series will offer, including experience-oriented events that will take place around china.

meanwhile, the automaker developed honda SENSING 360 omnidirectional ADAS (advanced driver-assistance system), to further enhance the intelligence of its ADAS by leveraging the knowledge and know-how honda has accumulated through the development of autonomous driving technology.
