when the final votes were cast at this year’s monaco yacht show, the 230-foot long fast displacement heesen ‘galactica super nova’superyacht won twice. first, it claimed the top prize for ‘best exterior design’ at the annual monaco yacht show gala that was held under the sparkling chandeliers in the ballroom of the hotel hermitage. then it sailed away with the honor of being the winner of the 2016 my ‘finest new superyacht’ award as well. while all nominated yachts were judged by a panel of yacht experts, you don’t need to have a degree in design to see why the ‘galactica super nova’ is held in high regard.

travels up to 30 knots in 75 seconds

spanning across 70 meters, ‘galactica super nova’ is the largest heesen yacht built to date. this aluminum fast displacement yacht combines speed and comfort, reaching speeds of up to 30 knots in just 75 seconds—placing it among the fastest yachts of its size—while maintaining a quiet onboard environment. the yacht’s innovative propulsion system, comprising two MTU wing engines; and a third central engine with a rolls-royce water-jet booster, is the first of its kind.

with a sleek, elegant profile by espen øino, ‘galactica super nova’ is the perfect balance of speed; space; and style. the superyacht boasts 357 square meters of deck space. from its luxurious sundeck to the beach club, there are twelve alternatives for guests to choose from, including: sunbathing; dining; spa; hosting a concert; jacuzzis; jet-pool, or just lounging around in the sun or shade.
