Glasst releases UNPAINT, a series of multi-surface removable paint that peels off. Once applied, users can tear it off their walls, furniture, and surfaces using only their hands. UNPAINT contains Glasstomer, a patented technology that the Colombian paint company has developed using natural and renewable sources they’re yet to identify. It’s also free of volatile organic compounds and biodegradable and can cut down CO2 emissions by up to 11 kilos for every kilo of paint used. It’s not just walls and furniture that users can apply the removable paint to. They can also coat and renovate cement, concrete, brick, cobblestone, fiber boards, masonry, marble, slate, granite, stone, wood, metal, laminated surfaces, glass, plastic, stucco, texturizing pastes, raw wood, and more.

UNPAINT has around 57 colors available

Users bring out their brush, roller, or airless equipment, dab or infuse it with Glasst’s UNPAINT, and coat the surfaces they want to coat. They wait for it to dry – which the company says can take around 30 to 60 minutes, or even days depending on how thick the coating is – and if they don’t like how it looks, they can just strip it away with their fingers and repaint it with another color. No special equipment is required to peel it off; just their hands are enough. The removable paint sounds ideal for rental homes and venues, or for when owners want to shake up the colors of their spaces. So far, there are around 57 removable paint colors available.

The paint company adds that UNPAINT can stay applied on indoor spaces without direct sunlight exposure for up to 12 months. Users can also peel it off after two or three days if they’re just looking for a shorter application. The removable paint is also ready-to-use, so users don’t need to dilute it with water or other solvents. Its adhesion, however, depends on the condition of the surface before applying the paint. For example, it may be difficult or inadvisable to coat damaged, wet, cracked, or moist surfaces with UNPAINT. The company suggests that users carry out a sample test on the surface first to see if the paint is compatible.

The Glasstomer technology infused in UNPAINT is what allows it to leave almost no traces when users peel off the removable paint from surfaces.
