Genesis unveils the X Gran Equator concept SUV

Genesis unveils the X Gran Equator concept SUV with four circular displays on the dashboard inspired by vintage camera dials. These are some of the modern features that the concept vehicle has in store for the possible owners. Inside, the design team carves four square sunroofs on the ceiling instead of the conventional singular panel. In this way, the driver and each passenger get to see the outside from where they sit. The cabin colors contrast too, with beige and blue accents, a coming-together of earth and rich hues for the palette scheme.

The dashboard can steal the spotlight as Genesis steps away from the digitization for the X Gran Equator concept. Aside from the four circular meter displays positioned at the center, the driver’s display also features this screen type. The absence of the extended screen for the dashboard allows for the dark blue upholstery to shine through, stripping away any unnecessary information overload, reviving the days of mechanical instrument panels. The front seats swivel as well, so it’s easier for the front users to enter and exit the concept vehicle.

signature Two-Line headlamps that extend on the side

Modular storage is on board the Genesis X Gran Equator concept SUV. Users can replace and place cabinets and containers in certain cabin positions should they want to add more compartments to pocket their objects. Outside the vehicle, the car manufacturer applies what it calls ‘reductive design principles.’ Clean lines highlight the structure of the SUV with Genesis’ signature Two-Line headlamps. Then, a long hood and some C-pillars create its silhouette.

The geometric auxiliary lamps and split-opening tailgate complement the line headlights that extend to the side of the Genesis X Gran Equator concept. Even the lamps at the back come in two long strips. At the front, the vehicle has a softened face. It’s because the lights and vents sit at the bottom, paving a way for the uninterrupted lines of the headlamps. Genesis brings the X Gran Equator Concept to its booth during the 2025 New York International Auto Show from April 18th, 2025, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. Following the show, the SUV moves to the Genesis House New York in the Meatpacking District until the end of July 2025.
