Amongst the pageantry on ice at St. Moritz’s White Turf, Genesis raced onto the snowy, picturesque mountain scene to add extra horsepower to the historic horse-racing event. The luxury automotive brand ventured to Switzerland with an electric SUV concept significantly dressed to impress for winter weather. Called the GV70 Snow, the car packs a more rugged body, lighting and tires fit for any adventure, and even tailor-made ski accessories to match.

‘At Genesis, our philosophy is to ensure our customers feel as if they are honoured guests in our home – a hospitality approach we refer to as ‘son-nim’. We’re thrilled to be able to offer Genesis hospitality in conjunction with exciting experiences such as horse racing and the unveiling on the GV70 Snow at such a prestigious event as White Turf here in St. Moritz,’ said Graeme Russell, Chief Brand Officer of Genesis, with designboom in attendance.

Luc Donckerwolke wears many hats. As well as being Chief Creative Officer of the Hyundai Group, the Belgian automotive designer also pens his own models for Genesis. Known as his passionate projects, the luxury automotive brand has embarked on an ambitious mission to reveal progressive concepts alongside its starchitect-designed showrooms and increasingly electric car portfolio – see our stories from Seoul for more. The Genesis GV70 Snow presents Donckerwolke’s next design, debuting an adventure car unmatched in winter performance, luxury, and experience.
the production model has received a winter facelift with higher ground clearance and widened wheel arches
The Genesis GV70 Snow was created in collaboration with Delta 4×4 – German specialists in off-road accessories and annual participants in the Dakar Rally – to combine luxury and robustness. In a sharp contrast to the production model, the concept has an increased ground clearance to conquer tough terrains, specially snowy tracks. Its wheel arches have also been widened to squeeze on key winter wear – BF Goodrich HO2 265/60R18 tires – suitable to climb any piste.
its Two Vision X state-of-the-art 40-inch LED bars sit atop the car’s bespoke roof rack
Its rugged profile is further accessorized to exude a distinctive, all-conquering flair. Unmissable in the dark, the bespoke roof rack is rigged with Two Vision X state-of-the-art 40-inch LED bars that has beams sufficient even for search and rescues. Paired with Baja Design Fog Lights, visibility is guaranteed for explorations in any terrain, day or night.
crafted by Anavon Skis, the special edition skis complete the concept car’s winter experience
To cap off the powerful off-road experience, the roof rack carries two winter sports equipment for a seamless mountain adventure. Alongside a unique sleigh, skis and poles were tailor-made in a special line by Anavon Skis – Grisons-based artisans that craft individualized, high performance skis. The designs match that of the concept car, highlighting details in silver against the elegant snow-white base color. These are the Genesis GV70 Snow’s final touches of extravagance at the equally extravagant celebration of horsepower at White Turf, St. Moritz.
