yacht manufacturer designs fully-electric safari car with solar powered roof

sunreef yachts has custom-engineered an electric safari car and donated it to the maasai wilderness conservation trust (MWCT) — an organization which works to protect the legendary ecosystems and of east africa. the MWCT also promotes responsible tourism and education through cooperation with sustainable camps and lodges, and this fully-electric safari car supports its vision for sustainable travel. using the bodywork of an off-road classic, both the mechanical, and research and development teams at sunreef yachts worked on every aspect of the car to combine a knowledge of green tech with a passion for motorsports, with the shipyard’s founder and president, francis lapp, directly involved in the project.

the fully-electric car by sunreef yachts — the luxury yacht designer and manufacturer with its shipyard in poland — is equipped with a state-of-the art electric engine and a powerful battery bank. it is also fitted solar panels developed by the shipyard featuring a new technology used only on sunreef yachts’ eco catamarans. the mechanical and electrical systems were specifically calibrated to respond to the needs of the eco-luxury lodges working hand-in-hand with the maasai wilderness conservation trust.
