this fully autonomous concept car comes with a personal robotic butler

knowing that self-driving technologies will open many new possibilities in the future, designers bene distler and felix marx have conceptualized a fully autonomous, electric fleet vehicle that services passengers’ storage needs instead. called EXIGEN, the concept car intelligently adapts in space and storage abilities, even including a personal robotic ‘butler’. the design was created in cooperation with brose, who produce mechatronic systems for doors, seats or electric motors and drives.

as a futuristic vision, EXIGEN is styled with a continuously smooth exterior shell that has been optimized for aerodynamics. its glazing is customizable to allow different levels of privacy and even complete darkening if passengers wish to sleep during longer journeys. the four seats are completely flexible, being freely rotatable and pivotable in order to offer personalized positioning and ease when boarding.

with an extendable wheelbase, the fleet vehicles can increase and decrease its trunk space depending on the passengers’ storage needs. it is also equipped with an intelligent cargo drone or ‘butler’ that aids the user to move and fit luggage and other items into the car.

the concept integrates many examples of advanced technology into the fleet. firstly, it is fitted with high performance electric motors that are enabled for induction charging when possible. secondly and most importantly, the vehicles are all connected to the EXIGEN cloud that syncs with users’ calendars and smart home devices to ensure a complete service.
