polish custom shop eastern spirit garage has transformed a 1980s yamaha XS650 motorcycle into an openwork bobber. the original was a special edition bike which appeared more like a chopper than the workshop’s traditional base models – café racers. the longer wheel base provided a new challenge, with the result unifying an impression of elegance to its inherent muscularity.

eastern spirit garage started by stripping the yamaha XS650 back, closing off the rear frame, and hand-making a floating seat. its hardtail modification swapped its suspension system in favor for a comfy mountain bike shock. the design is complete with a borrowed headlight and in-house built clip-ons, rear-sets, side stand and exhaust system. to finish, massive 16” wheels contrast with its elegant, low-slung openwork body.
a yamaha virago fuel tank has been modified into a smooth curving, sloping shape for the custom motorcycle. it has been finished in a black base coating complemented by a double gold pin stripe. gold, brass and polished silver details across the design contrast dramatically with the black base, which creates an impression of jewelry.
