Orange and white for the custom subaru 360

A Subaru 360 has been transformed by car services company Forest Auto Factory into a summer ride by adding orange to the car design as the color of the eye-catching hood and frame and switching up the seat style with retro stripes. The creation appeared at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2022 and, recently, at Asomobi 2022 in Makuhari (from August 7th to 8th, 2022), dressed up in its revamped look and looking ready for some creative camping or summer cruising.

The matte-finished body tugs the viewers to lock their eyes on the automobile as the combination of orange and eggshell white produce an alluring palette for the car’s look. The compact-sized vehicle stands out with its color alone, a seemingly though-of move when the Chiba-based car services company decided to renovate its classic look.

From fiberglass to wooden slats

While the original model of the vehicle has a fiberglass roof panel, the custom Subaru 360 by Forest Auto Factory directly enjoys sunlight during long rides and cruising with its wooden roof. It is not just made of wood, but of wooden slats that can be commonly seen in houses. No more foggy or dust-covered glass with this custom Subaru 360 as riders can fully enjoy the shadow of sunlight dancing and spilling into the interior of the revamped model.

Wood continues as the primary material for the renovation, and riders can see it when they open the trunk door. There, they will find a wooden board to replace the furry carpet-covered floor of a typical car model, creating a surface where drivers can place their objects, and even cups of coffee during their drive break, with ease.

Summer vibes with retro stripes

The summer vibes become amplified thanks to the use of retro stripes that cling onto the seat coverings of the car. The red, black, orange and white-clad strips that run through the seat material also cover the inside of the car’s doors and back parts of the seating, a guaranteed continuity of the beach-inspired design.

A log of timber replaced the dashboard, and the design and repair team made sure to include just the speedometer, freeing the design from any clutter. The car shift, handbrake, and wheel follow the footsteps of the wooden element, with the wheel enjoying a T-shaped design in the middle to hold the small-sized car horn.
