continuing their 110 year celebration following the anniversary chiron earlier in 2019, bugatti has revealed a one-off hyper car at the 2019 geneva motor show. the coupe, called la voiture noire, is said to be the world’s most powerful, luxurious and exclusive to date.

the bugatti la voiture noire is a modern interpretation of jean bugatti’s famous type 57 SC atlantic, which was only made four times between 1936 and 1938. as such, the coupe reflects the brand’s french heritage and identity. it also showcases the pioneering spirit, passion for perfect and desire to continually redefine its limits that has been driving bugatti for 110 years. although deeply enriched with heritage, however, there is not one element that hasn’t been designed for the future.

with an elegance of minimalism and refinement often only attributed to exclusive paris fashion designers, the bugatti la voiture noire is the object of desire for a hyper car. with an extended front end, the coupe details an elongated impression with an elegant waistline and a distinctive C-line. there is a pureness with its clear surfaces and lines, where even the bumpers are smoothly integrated into the body and the windscreen flows seamlessly into the side windows. 

 

‘every single component has been handcrafted and the carbon fiber body has a deep black gloss only interrupted by the ultrafine fiber structure. this is a material that has been handled perfectly,’ says bugatti designer etienne salomé. ‘we worked long and hard on this design until there was nothing that could improve more. for us, the coupe represents the perfect form with a perfect finish.’

completing the design, the coupe’s perfect form is matched by the excelling performance expected from buagtti. the 16-cylinder engine is the heart of the car, displacing eight liters and developing 1,500 PS and 1,600 nm of torque. this power can truly be seen with the six tailpipes at the rear.
