Automobili Pininfarina’s Bruce Wayne-inspired electric hypercars

Update, August 9th, 2024 – Automobili Pininfarina releases the first physical car model of its Bruce Wayne slash Batman-inspired electric hypercar, B95 Gotham. The vehicle debuts at Monterey Car Week 2024, which runs between August 9th and August 18th, in the event’s The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering program. On August 16th, visitors to The Quail can see the real-life B95 Gotham, which is one of the two cars that Automobili Pininfarina displays at the event.

The unveiling of the physical electric hypercar follows the news of the four Bruce Wayne-inspired remodellings of the car manufacturer’s B95 and Battista models. There are only two versions per model, one Gotham and one Dark Knight. Only one vehicle – four, in total – in the entire series is produced, and while the B95 Gotham at The Quail is only a showcar, the drivable versions of these cars are expected to be manufactured in the company’s atelier in Cambiano, Italy. The series comes through in collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products (WBDGCP) and Relevance International.

Gotham and dark night b95 and battista GT

Inspired by Batman’s alter ego, Automobili Pininfarina infuses a Bruce Wayne twist into its electric B95 hyper Barchetta and Battista hyper GT hypercars. These two cars can be fitted with two specifications (one per model), rooted in Bruce Wayne and totaling four vehicles: ‘Gotham’ and ‘Dark Knight’. All four hypercars by the manufacturer are electric, powered by a high-capacity 120kWh lithium-ion battery and four motors generating 1,900 horsepower.

In terms of speed, these Automobili Pininfarina hypercars can accelerate from zero to 100 km/h (or zero to 62 mph) in less than two seconds, dubbed by the car manufacturer as ‘faster than a current Formula 1 car.’ Both the Gotham and Dark Knight specifications feature an instructional voice inspired by Bruce Wayne’s loyal butler and assistant, Alfred Pennyworth. The Battista model is further revamped, starting with the tailgate shark fins and louver openings on the carbon fiber wings to enhance aerodynamics performance of the model.

Finished in tan leather and stitchings

Tan leather with tan stitching and quilting in the center panels greet the driver and passenger inside the Gotham specifications of the electric B95 hyper Barchetta and the Battista hyper GT hypercars. For the Gotham Battista, Argento Vittorio gloss paint finishes the bodywork, complementing the Nero Torino gloss paint Goccia roof. There’s also an ‘F’ logo that marks Automobili Pininfarina’s signature, made of brushed and polished anodized aluminum.

Glancing at the 20-inch front and 21-inch rear alloy wheels, owners can see the Prezioso Evoluzione gloss black face and matte black channel rim finishings. This model’s sibling, the Gotham B95 open top, closely matches the specs of its wheels, except the B95’s are finished with a matte black inner and gloss black outer ring. They also come with Titan calipers and a brushed aluminum anodized black rim center lock ring, sealing the very Bruce Wayne vibe that Automobili Pininfarina is going for.

Since Bruce Wayne is a solid fan of technology and advanced settings, so should Automobili Pininfarina’s Dark Knight specifications for the electric B95 hyper Barchetta and the Battista hyper GT hypercars. These vehicles are wrapped with black Alcantara and black leather upholstery, finished with black and gold duo-tone contrast stitching.

The bodywork of the Dark Knight Battista is finished in Nero Profondo gloss paint, with a Nero Torino ‘Goccia’ roof and Glorioso ceramic-polished rims, similar to its Gotham counterpart. The Dark Knight B95’s exterior matches that of the Battista too, with its ceramic-polished rims. Wayne Enterprises’ logos, the company of Bruce Wayne, mark the Battista model’s side skirts and roof, continuing the Gotham City and Batman universe of the electric hypercar series.

To top it off, the chassis, or frame of the car, and the door plate are made from aluminum, still inspired by Bruce Wayne. These electric hypercars inspired by DC’s Bruce Wayne emerged in collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products and Relevance International along with the car manufacturer’s design team in the Cambiano Atelier.

In these four electric vehicles, the subtle use of the Wayne Enterprises corporate logo appears throughout the vehicles, joining the custom seat embroidery and the voice inspired by Alfred Pennyworth. As of publishing the story, these Bruce Wayne-inspired electric hypercars are launching on a dedicated site and will be followed by an invite-only retail theater concept coming this summer of 2024 where an Automobili Pininfarina Battista will be on display.
