iago valino conceptualizes BMW motorrad x ESMC off-road e-motorcycle

the BMW motorrad x ESMC (shortened for el solitario mc) is an electric motorcycle designed for long distances even in the toughest of conditions. it was inspired by the all-conquering ural motorcycles, with spanish artist iago valino conceptualizing a modern interpretation of these post-WWII BMW customs.

what makes the BMW motorrad x ESMC concept unique is that it swaps a traditional passenger cart for a sidecar that can hold tools, energy and other essential gear. this extra cargo space features straps to hold down shovels, axes and other types of tools, and its flat base means extra batteries can be carried as well. three LED spotlights line the front of the removable sidecar to improve night vision in off-road conditions.

with the aim of keeping the design as a modern tribute to the ural motorcycle, iago valino’s concept is all about details. firstly, the whole geometrically blocked body is coated in a slate gray paint job. secondly, translucent mudguards hover above the thick threaded wheels to help maintain its reduced visual form. with its screen display, the instrument cluster might seem minimal but the essential controls are clearly communicate when needed. the slim swingarm supports an equally as thin bench seat, which is upholstered in brown saddle leather like the handle bar grips.

the whole motorcycle is powered by an 18.7 kWh battery supported by the cargo sidecar’s extra supplies. although the exact mileage has not been determined, the concept is said to offer a long range even in the toughest of conditions.
