BMW concept X7 iperformance revealed ahead of 2017 frankfurt motor show

unveiled before its world debut at the 2017 frankfurt motor show (IAA), the BMW ‘concept X7 iperformance’ defines a new understanding of luxury for sports activity vehicles (SAV). its release joins the ‘concept 8 series’ and ‘concept Z4’, which were both presented earlier in 2017, as part of the german brand’s biggest ever model offensive.

as a vision of modernity, luxury and grand presence, the BMW ‘concept X7 iperformance’ immediately showcases its impressive exterior as it stands immensely above the road. it merges characteristics of modern aesthetics with dynamism. this is most apparent on the sides as a prominent clasp – situated by the air intakes – pulls in the lower part of the front and creates a significant sense of movement. this athletic stature runs from the front, which is defined by a one-piece kidney frame, past the rounded wheel arches and along the shoulder line to the voluminous rear end.

the BMW ‘ concept X7’ continues its essence of luxury with an equally exclusive and modern interior. drivers and passengers are surrounded in an open space defined by reduced shapes, warm colors and selected materials, such as open-pore ash and matte or polished aluminum highlights. six seats are spread out over three rows, where their dark, olive or bronze-colored leather side cheeks contrast with the rest of its body, which adorns a smoke white leather. above the substantial seats, a large panorama roof creates an extraordinary feeling of space in abundance, as well as generous amounts of light.

further composing an atmosphere of modernity, laser light strings web the ceiling and dart around the surrounding lower surfaces to generate a dynamic ambience. this includes the instrument panel and center console, where clear edge molds enclose the driver and passengers. stepping further inside, occupants can enjoy their individual infotainment via the touch monitors in the rears of each seat. this entertainment system introduces a seamless integration with their digital worlds using BMW connected. it further highlights how the luxurious interior fits modern times, making the space perfect for the customer’s desired need, be it as a place of retreat or productivity.

set for its big reveal at the 2017 frankfurt motor show, or also known as the IAA, the BMW ‘concept X7 iperformance’ acts as a preview for the full production model which will launch in 2018. the international automobile exhibition runs from september 14th to 24th 2017.
