Azimut introduces Magellano 60 with expanded cockpit

Azimut premieres the Magellano 60 and Verve 48 yachts at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2023, which runs from September 12th to 17th, 2023. Azimut tapped yacht designers Ken Freivokh and Francesco Struglia to work on the interiors and exteriors of the Magellano 60 and Verve 48, respectively. In their design ethos, maximizing space and its uses come to the forefront, as seen in the Magellano 60’s expanded cockpit and stern that can be transformed into a terrace and dining area and the Verve 48’s additional outboard that folds outward for an extended leisure area.

Inside Azimut’s triple-deck Magellano 60, the cockpit acts as an extension of the large lounge on the main deck. Its stern can be converted into a terrace with a transparent parapet that overlooks the water, and a concealed table can be raised to transform the space into the yacht’s dining area. Ken Freivokh’s exterior design complements the interior’s floor-to-ceiling windows surrounding the yacht, providing panoramic views. The Magellano 60 also features a Dual Mode semi-planning hull, which enables cruising at both low and high speeds, attuning the yacht’s performance based on the impact of the waves.

Verve 48 yacht with a foldable platform

Alongside the Magellano 60, the Verve 48 makes its debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival. Dubbed the ‘sport weekender,’ this Azimut speeder comes with a larger stern area, integrated with two ladders to allow passengers to take a quick dive in the ocean. Francesco Struglia goes further with the design of the Azimut yacht and even adds a swimming platform that opens up externally, constructing a foldable platform attached to the water vehicle.

Visually, Verve 48 presents an enveloping hardtop that optionally features an opening tempered glass insert that lets the light and air spill through to the anchor. The speeder can cruise at a maximum speed of 92 km/h, thanks to its three 600-horsepower Mercury V12s, with fuel consumption reduced by up to 15 percent. Azimut claims that the noise on board is also reduced by up to 10 decibels compared to its predecessor, the Verve 47, and that passengers can barely hear the sound of the engines once they are in the vehicle.

Sport yacht S7 shows up on water for the first time

In the same yachting event, Azimut features its sport yacht S7 for the first time on the water. The newcomer motoryacht exudes sporty look, conferred through the design by Alberto Mancini – who also designed Seadeck’s hybrid motoryachts – and the creative boutique Yachtique. Lowering carbon emission is at the heart of the vehicle, so the 22-meter cruiser gets 3 Volvo IPS engines and optimized hull lines, designed in collaboration with P.D. Ausonio Naval Architecture.

Azimut says that the combination of the optimized exterior and the engines enable S7 to reduce carbon emissions by up to 30 percent at the most frequent speeds of use compared to a boat of the same weight and size with a traditional hard-chine hull and shaft line. Magellano 60, Verve 48, and S7 will remain at the Cannes Yachting Festival until September 17th, 2023 for public viewing.
