world premier: AUDI Q4 e-tron aims to be the electric everyday car

fresh on the tail of the e-tron GT, AUDI debuts the all-new Q4 e-tron and Q4 sportback e-tron as the all-rounders of its electrified fleet. the two models are vehicles of versatility, equally excelling with smooth dynamics, spacious functionality, and long-range mileage – fitted into a sporty design to top it off. there’s the family one, there’s the sporty one, and now there’s the everyday one…

the production models of the AUDI Q4 e-tron and Q4 sportback e-tron borrows the precise lines and clear, pared back body surfaces from the 2019 concept. short front overhangs, large wheels and powerfully honed muscles define striking proportions that blend sportiness with sophistication. the sportback, specifically, has a low couple-style roofline that lifts off with a spoiler splitting the two-part rear window. a light strip bridges the taillight units to complete its expressive rear design.

despite its compact size, the models pack a lot inside. in fact, the spaciousness is comparable to a full-size SUV with luggage volume of up to 1,490 liters. its heightened feeling of room is thanks to the removable of the center tunnel – unnecessary for an EV – that grants generous legroom. up front, the driver gets both worlds at once – the real and the augmented. a head-up display communicates helpful driving cues as if hovering at a safe distance on the road ahead. an instrument panel, split into two displays, is angled towards the driver. then, a separate horizontal operating panel as well as a newly-designed steering wheel with connectivity, ensures all controls are at hand.

the Q4 e-tron and Q4 sportback e-tron are perfect for both the urban commuter and long-distance driver. two battery and three drive variants deliver all the needs: a max output of 220 kW can deliver 323 miles on a single charge, 10 minutes of charging offers about 80 miles, and it sprints from 0 to 62 mph in 6.2 seconds on its way to a top speed of 111.8mph. the high-voltage battery lies between the axles to give a low center of gravity and balanced weight for sporty yet comfortable drive.
