sport meets utility as the first ever aston martin DBX SUV is revealed

indulge yourself with the aston martin DBX, the british brand’s first ever SUV in its 106-year history, as it debuts at the LA auto show 2019. sportiness and practicality has been designed hand-in-hand for the five-seater car. it delivers the exceptional performance and style accustomed to aston martin, yet offers a new level of versatility as well as usability.

starting with its signature DB grille at the front, the aston martin DBX’s design is typically stylish for the british brand. its incredibly smoothed, sculpted surfaces are only interrupted by its shoulder line along the side. aerodynamics has played an integral role in shaping the car. air flows smoothly over the roof, through the rear wing and then over the rear flip of the tailgate, which is reminiscent of the vantage model. sleek details enrich the aesthetic, including the hidden side glass seals on the frameless doors and glass B-pillar finishes.

inside, the sports-cum-utilty car offers 632 liters of boot space – perfect for suitcases, golf bags and even ski equipment. this is thanks to a row of rear seats that folds flush into the load space. a full-length glass panoramic roof and frameless door glass floods the luxurious handcrafted interior with light. between the two front seats, which are trimmed in full grain leather, an elegantly crafted bridged center console acts as a flexible storage space whilst looking as if an architectural centerpiece. here, a 10.25′ touch screen sits whilst a 23.3’ touch screen is integrated into the dashboard

a 4-liter, twin-turbocharged V8 engine offers 547hp and 700Nm of torque, sounding unquestionably like an aston martin. this propels the car from 0 to 62mph in 4.5 seconds and then up to a top speed of 181mph. with all this power, though, the DBX has been engineered to deliver luxurious comfort too. to start, adaptive triple chamber air springs bring stiffness to the ride whilst adaptive triple volume air suspension cushions any impact. a 48v electric anti-roll control system and electronic adaptive dampers then offer the ability to raise the ride hight to 45mm or lower it by 50mm, so the driver can conquer any terrain.
