arcimoto unveils the MLM, a tilting e-trike powered by three hub motors

ARCIMOTO HAS EMBEDDED ITS PATENTED TILTING TECHNOLOGY INTO THE MEAN LEAN MACHINE (MLM)

arcimoto has unveiled the upcoming mean lean machine (MLM) — a first-of-its-kind three-wheel tilting e-trike based on their patented tilting technology. the vehicle is powered by three hub motors and a pedal generator with no chain, no belt, and no grease.

the mean lean machine is expected to launch in late 2022, and is available for preorder now. the video above shows a prototype in action.

MORE THAN 200 MILES WITH AUXILIARY BATTERIES

targeting a range of 200+ miles with auxiliary batteries, the mean lean machine (MLM) by arcimoto can carry up to two passengers. it features three-wheel direct drive and a pedal generator for speed control and stationary recharge.

‘the mean lean machine reflects arcimoto’s commitment to push the envelope of sustainable mobility,’ said arcimoto founder and CEO, mark frohnmayer. ‘we started with the amazing three-wheel tilting technology developed by our tilting motor works division and then packed the MLM with new cutting-edge electric vehicle features, including hub motors on all three corners and a pedal generator, in order to deliver a joyful experience unlike any other in the e-bike category.’

there is still not a lot of information available, but bob mighell, arcimoto chief tilting officer and three-wheel tilting technology pioneer, states that, ‘with the MLM, you’ll be able to corner the same way you would on a regular bike with greater traction, more stability and better braking ability.’
