apple unveils redesigned macbook pro with touch bar display

apple has introduced its thinnest and lightest macbook pro ever, along with the ‘touch bar’ — a new interface that replaces the traditional row of function keys with a multi-touch display. the computer also features apple’s brightest and most colorful retina display, touch ID, a more responsive keyboard, a larger force touch trackpad, and an audio system with double the dynamic range. the product is also the firm’s most powerful macbook pro, featuring sixth-generation quad-core and dual-core processors, up to 2.3 times the graphics performance of the previous generation, and up to four thunderbolt 3 ports.

the touch bar was designed by apple to boost both productivity and creativity. it can show tabs and favorites, enable easy access to emoji, provide a simple way to edit images, or scrub through videos. meanwhile, integrated into the power button is ‘touch ID’, a feature already familiar to iPhone and iPad users. once you enroll your fingerprint, you can quickly unlock your mac, switch user accounts, and make secure purchases with a single touch.

the best mac display yet delivers images that appear more vivid and lifelike than ever before. as thin as a macbook display at .88 mm, the retina display on the new macbook pro is 67 % brighter than the previous generation, and features 67% more contrast. furthermore, power-saving technologies, such as a larger pixel aperture, a variable refresh rate and more power-efficient LEDs, ensure that the display consumes 30% less energy in comparison. the new macbook pro also offers much larger force touch trackpads, a more responsive and comfortable keyboard, and louder speakers with more true-to-life sound.
