apple previewed ‘macOS sierra’, ‘iOS 10’, ‘watchOS3’, ‘tvOS’, and announced their updated ‘siri’ at WWDC 2016 – a major update to their latest operating systems, boasting a host of new features on their devices. available this fall at no cost, the apple software updates feature the intelligent personal assistant ‘siri’ with new capabilities – find documents, pin or drag and drop search results, look up information, and even adjust system preferences. universal clipboard allows users to copy content, including text, images, photos and video from one apple device and paste it in another. the ever-growing apple pay feature comes to the ‘macOS sierra’ so that shopping securely and privately online is simpler. the ‘photos’ application will help people rediscover those meaningful memories, organize libraries and perfect shots like a seasoned professional.

users can ask ‘siri’ to locate a specific document, schedule a meeting or start a ‘facetime’. additionally, users can also drag and drop items from search results directly into documents or emails, pin search results in the notification center to keep an eye on information like sports scores or stock prices. with the intelligent personal assistant’s debut on mac, ‘siri’ will be available on all four apple software platforms and handles two billion requests per week across 36 countries.

the updated OS takes the popular tabs feature and makes it available across ‘mac’ apps that support multiple windows, including ‘maps’, ‘mail’, ‘pages’, ‘numbers’, ‘keynote’ and ‘textedit’, and even third-party apps.

‘apple pay’ makes it more secure to make purchases when shopping on participating websites. there is no longer a need to share credit or debit card numbers online and card numbers are not stored on devices.

with universal clipboard, clipboard contents will be available across all apple devices via ‘iCloud’. users can easily copy and paste text, images, photos and video between ‘mac’ and ‘iPhone’ and ‘iPad’.

featuring new advanced computer vision, ‘photos’ understands the people, things and places within images using on-device facial, object and scene recognition and location information to group images into albums. and, perfecting photographs like a pro is even easier with the new ‘brilliance’ tool, which pulls in highlights and adds contrast to enhance details throughout those images.

the improved ‘watchOS 3’, provides the ability to launch favorite apps instantly, enhancing navigation with the new ‘dock’ and all-new fitness and health capabilities for apple ‘watch’. available this fall at no cost, this software update introduces the ‘breathe’ app, designed to encourage users to take a moment in their day to do deep breathing exercises for relaxation and stress reduction.

the powerful new ‘siri’ capabilities will be available on apple ‘TV’ , plus single sign-on and many more new features for users, enhancing the entertainment experience in the living room. with expanded ‘siri’ capabilities, including searching across more apps, topic search and youtube search. apple believe the future of TV is apps, and with single sign-on customers can authenticate all the video channels from their paid TV providers by simply signing in once to enjoy all of their network-TV apps.
