the alfa romeo ‘4c’ concept car
on exhibition at geneva motor show 2011, the alfa romeo ‘4c’ concept car draws from the design and technology of earlier alfa romeo models to offer the look and handling of a sports car in a vehicle sized like a compact.

the 2-seater coupe is powered by a 1750cc four-cylinder turbocharged direct-injection petrol engine coupled with the company’s newly released ‘alfa TCT’ twin dry clutch transmission. the engine is rear center mounted, contributing to a 40/60 front/rear weight distribution across the vehicle.
extensive use of aluminum in the rear frame and a carbon fiber body allow the 4-meter long ‘4c’ to weigh in at 850kg. the car thus advances from 0-60mph (0-100km/hr) in under five seconds and can reach speeds over 155mph (250km/hr), but with fuel consumption that the company claims is on par with typical four-cylinder engines.
