the final 2023 jaguar f-type
The next chapter of Jaguar F-Type’s fabled history turns electric. Although only in production since 2013, the design’s lineage traces back as the spiritual successor of the iconic 1961 E-Type and 1948 XK120. As every model from the British car manufacturer switches to fully electric from 2025, it is time to say au revoir – goodbye until we meet again – to the sportscar, the V8 engine, and lineage. designboom bids bon voyage to the 2023 Jaguar F-Type by driving the final model year – the special 75 editions – in South France.

F-Type 75 and R 75 special performance
To mark the end of the combustion engine lineage, Jaguar has released two special 2023 models: F-Type 75 and F-Type R 75. Both editions continue the British sportscar’s charismatic on-demand torque, precise control, and rear-wheel drive feel. A double wishbone front and rear suspension, together with a chassis enhanced by rear knuckles and larger wheel bearings, are key to balancing its agility when cornering and stiffness at speed. The result places the driver front and center to immediately respond to inputs.
The 75 and R 75 editions are marked by special features, including the unique colored grille badge
Supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engines mean driver responses are instantaneous in the sportscars. The 75 edition races from 0 to 60mph in 4.4 seconds and up to a maximum speed of 177mph using its 450PS and 580Nm of torque. The R 75 betters this still, accelerating from 0 to 60mph in 3.5 seconds and up to a limit of 186mph owing to its 575PS and 700Nm of torque. A distinct, recognizable crackle and pop sound shows there is still life in the Jaguar F-Type, roaring along the French Riviera.
Giola Green Metallic reveals a one-off revamp of the famed British Racing Green
exterior of powerful proportions
Whether sailing down the Cote D’Azor in the coupe or convertible version, the final 2023 models of the Jaguar F-Type exclusively offer a revamp of its famed British Racing Green. The new color, Giola Green Metallic, dresses the powerful proportions of the front-engine two-seater. It glistens and shines to accentuate the body’s particularly muscular, assertive design as it sits atop 20-inch wheels as standard. The special editions are also marked with unique grille badge colors, silhouette motif on the rear, and spoke wheels.
Special spokes adorn the 20-inch standard wheels
Referencing the shapes of the C- and D-Type cars, the exterior design starts with a smooth, liquid metal-like bonnet that sweeps up elegantly to the greenhouse, before dramatically and rapidly dropping at the slender rear. Super-slim LED headlights, drawn in a J-shape as if calligraphy, seemingly extend the car’s width. Powertrain-specific exhaust pipes conclude the design, quite literally signalling its powerful performance if not seen or heard in stationary.
Instantly recognizable front and tail lights complete the exterior design
performance-focused cabin
Inside, the cabin is dedicated to performance – all at the fingertips of the driver. There is a sense of theater as soon as the passengers sit in. A red start button draws the eye and begs to be pushed, as the engine roars to life, the 12.3-inch reconfigurable display is ignited, and the center air vents are deployed. The 1+1 cockpit uses the racing steering wheel and gearshift in the center console to contain all features needed to curate the drive.

Rich materials, such as the Windsor leather on the seats as standard, are expertly crafted to evoke a sportiness. The same unique silhouette motif from the exterior is continued inside, adorning the center console and treat plates. Lightweight slimline seats – available as sport or performance options – are ergonomically-optimized to deliver comfort no matter speed. A crafted monogram stitch pattern is repeated across the seats, door trims, and headrests to add a final touch of luxury to the otherwise sports-focused interior.
